Villa Hügel

On picturesque mountain above the Ruhr Baldeney Hills Lake, Villa Hugel was designed by the industry pioneer Alfred Krupp itself and developed in the years 1870 to 1873. Except from it being a private residence of the Krupp family, the Villa also served as the representation of the Krupp firm. Emperors and kings, prime ministers and politicians of many nations were a guest here. Villa Hügel is the starting point for themed routes such as "Krupp and the city food," "contractor villas in the Ruhr", "myth Ruhr" and the "White Fleet".
